Kings County Jail

Medications

Interview with Ron and Tiffany

JM: Did you always have access to necessary medications?
Ron: no
Tiffany: I will relate my OWN experience here. I was offered twice by medical staff medications. I asked what they were giving me and was explained they have 100s of patients and they can't keep track of them all. I found this VERY unprofessional and I refused the meds they wanted to give me. If they can't tell me what pill they are providing, then I won't take it. Other inmates enjoyed the fact that many times other's medications were given to them. I guess some enjoy anything to pass the time on something to make you sleep or make you feel high. There was also alot of trading of meds between the inmates.

JM: How did you get your medications?
Ron: you had to sigh up for it .
Tiffany: A nurse would come to your pod, escorted by a deputy and the meds were in a small envelope.

JM: What types of punishments were incurred for abuse of drugs?
Ron: time was taken from you in the form of a write up.
